Some people are just ridiculously biassed because they heard that a game has a swear word once & all games are the same.
Once people actually play something like Morrowind or Final Fantasy VII they generally get over themselves.
Many games are deep & provoking, like Passage, which is literally a metaphor for life
media history :
books have obscene material
public/media/*******: this will turn children evil because their imagining it
radio shows with violent material
public/media/*******: children will become killers because their able to hear it
tv shows
public/media/*******: children will become killers because their can see this stuff happen
video games
public/media/*******: children will become killers because their killing people in the game
this is how its always been, and its not gonna change, the moment video games are no longer demonized these bastards are going to look for something else to demonize and the media will make it sound worse
Not evil in themselves. It shocks me how realistic the violence and gore is in them though. Honestly I'm glad I grew up when I did, went outside and did stuff, read books, learned to use our imagination to make fun. We had only one TV channel that only transmitted part of the day. But I can't remember ever being bored or having nothing to do. Kids these days have a lot and more instant gratification but always saying they are bored. Sad.
Well not all games are violent. Theirs games like wii fit and brain age for the Nintendo ds. I have been playing the the most violent bloodiest video games you could think most of my life I'm 19 and I've never even gotten in a fight and never considerd hurting anyone. But that's just me and people are different
Video games encourage unhealthy behaviour, they aren't evil at all. The people who play them/let their impressionable kids play them are at fault. Video games can be what they were intended to be. A recreation. Not a life style choice. When played responsibly.
If it takes a violent video game or horror novel to make you go out and commit crimes, then you need serious counseling. It's the way I see it.
No they are a means of recreation when people use them responsibly
It does not make sense
to me for video games
to be ab excuse for some-
one performing an act
of evil .
interesting read :)
thanks
No.
For some reason video games are really evil. They waste time, turn children into murderers, ruin lives, become addicted, etc. But why is it that people say these? Whenever I hear a person tell me this I always ask them: Have you ever played a video game to find out for yourself? The answer is usually: No.
But why are video games so demonized today? I don't hear politicians, soccer moms, or anyone else in America or the media claim television is evil, or the Internet, or books for that maner. There is a whole lot of violence in books for children. But that doesn't seem to bother anyone. Why is it that video games are getting all the attention lately? I feel like all of this blaming has happened before and this is basically the new Dungeons and Dragons and people are hating on it.
