Why did Osama think he could go up against America?

Lol; the US already lost Iraq and Afghanistan wars and are coming back with their tails between their legs. Osama was nothing more than a scapegoat that was used to invade Middle Eastern countries that had oil.....In case you didn't know; Al-Qaeda was created by the US........

Because back in the 1990s, the US military went into Somalia for a humanitarian mission. But when we started getting into firefights with Somali war lords, the US quickly pulled out. This made Bin Laden think that the US was weak.

He's the Gavrilo Princip of the modern era, his goal was not to bring down his enemies by himself, but to trigger a conflict which would destroy them. Radical Islam is on the rise, weak leadership in Washington has allowed countless governments to fall under the sway of these people, and the only one who's supporting secularism is Putin. We may in our lifetime see Bin Laden's dream of a unified and radicalized Muslim world, it's worth noting that Princip did destroy Austria Hungary at the cost of his own life.

He is dead but his cause lives on.

The USA is withdrawing from Afghanistan after spending billions of dollars and losing thousands of lives and the Taliban will be back in power in two years.

This is something I've always wondered. Why did Osama Bin Laden think he could go up against America? In order to start a war you need to think you can win. But what was Bin Laden thinking that told him he could stand up to America? I mean it's not just America, there's allies of America that were chasing Bin Laden, countries like Britain, Australia and others that I cannot think of right now. So how did Bin Laden think he could go to war with America and her allies? Surely there must have been a little voice in his head telling him that 'this will only end badly for you'.
