Since when was the gothic subculture about self harm and being arrogant? I don't know where you got that information from but you need to do some research from a reliable resource.
The gothic subculture is based off music (gothic rock and other dark music genres such as dark wave) and a dark mind (seeing beauty in darkness and in things that other people would usually find weird, ugly, strange and disturbing.
We get bullied, because people like you, don't understand our subculture and make assumptions that get us offended which will cause us to react in a way that will probably offend you. You know we're people, you know, not aliens or not some other species. We have feelings too.
I definitely don't think I'm "better than everyone else" because I dress, listen and have a different midset to everyone. Everyone is equal and everyone deserves to be treated the same way, no matter who you are. Most goths are open minded and down-to-earth, you've obviously never met any real ones.
Plus self harm is a mental health condition which has got nothing to do with a subculture.
EDIT: I don't know why you thought an ENTIRE group of people have the same personality, have you spoken to all the goths in the world, like?
Everyone who sets themselves apart from the crowd by dressing differently or acting differently will most likely be bullied. Not fair, but a fact of life. I think it's important for people who are not goth to call out the bullies for their childish and cruel behaviour.
If more people did that, the bullies might realize how silly they seem to other people.
Most goths I have known do not self harm at all. Some people just like to pick on anyone they perceive as being different as they like conformity. The different way goths dress makes them feel uncomfortable and exposes their own insecurities.
I don't know about Goths, but my Uncle Bob reckoned he nutted a MOD during a Scarborough bank holiday weekend. His motivation was that he was drunk.
I deplore all violence, even towards MODS, hipsters, goths or tories.
Some of the Goth girlies are HOT.....
i mean i don't agree with them in the first place because they harm their self and think they are better then everyone else but why do they get bullied for that because its their opinion in the free society!
