Did Obama lose the debate because he was too self-sacrificing?

He lost the debate because he does not know what he is talking about, not really, tried to avoid making a direct answer, and he did not have a teleprompter to read from.

I believe that the people who prepared Obama for this debate completely misjudged how it would evolve, they tried to play too fair.

They assumed that Romney would repeat some, or many of the extreme things he had earlier promised during his campaign, and Obama was fully prepared to counter these.

I believe he was intending to prove how his policies were much fairer to all Americans than what Romney was offering, and at the same time show how extreme Romney is.

Or that was the plan.

But Romney completely changed tactics by moderating his proposals and not mentioning any of his more extreme ideas. He even suggested a few of the democrat's policies, making these out to be his own ideas.

Romney also used bully tactics to detract his opponent, by continuously interrupting both Obama and the moderator, in order to make sure only his ideas were at the forefront.

This cleverly planned strategy paid off well, because it took Obama totally by surprise, he was often left speechless because he was never given the chance to attack anything that Romney said.

I'll bet the Obama camp are seething at how Romney stole the show by such simple subversion and trickery. They are fools because they didn't see this coming, they haven't woken up to the fact that Romney and the Republicans have been doing this for the whole of his campaign, and they'd better start fighting back just as dirty.

What this debate proved is how the Republicans will stop at nothing to oust Obama.

Mitt Romney promises everything and anything and changes his policies at a stroke, just to gain bonus points. It shows how much he is prepared to lie and decieve, to do and say anything, no matter how underhand in order to win this campaign.

Obama must get a grip and get aggressive, no more Mr. nice guy.

If he can't put Romney in his place, by openly repeating all the gaffs and blunders which Romney has made, and criticize all his ridiculous promises and show them up as the lies that they are, otherwise he'll lose this election.

Obama has got to get nasty by directly accusing Romney of being a liar. He's got to deliberately insult him, and that to his face during the next debate, and he's gotta have all the facts and figures in his head to throw at him to prove it !

He's gotta get right under Romney's skin and make him look like the arrogant SOB lying, cheating b@stard that he really is.

I am not an America and will obviously not vote. I can only say it will be shamefull of America voting out their first mixed race president when Obama has not done anything actually wrong. I can understand he has not been able to carry out some of his election promises. People should understand after he entered the White House security needs meant he had to go back on a few things. Just because someone is able to talk does not mean they would make a good President.

Obama lost the debate because he tried to avoid forward answers, and slandered Romney, more than the other way around. It bothers me that both candidates were more concerned with mudslinging than with giving honest answers about their policies and what they thing would help.

Obama always is trying to say that he is so self-sacrificing. But now he's saying that he lost because, get this, he was too self-sacrificing . . .

He says he was "too polite."

LOLOLOL I thought that was sooo funny.

He basically admits that he thought we were all so brainwashed by him that his victory in the debate was assured. He didn't realize that enough of us were thinking for ourselves.

Of course Obama doesn't say it like that. He says that he expected Romney to make a bunch of mistakes and that he was just too nice to know how to respond.
