People will always complain they never have enough money.
Young people do the same with minimum jobs, singles complain because they can't go
on vacations, married couples complain, etc, etc, etc,
Its called 'living within your means' and most people always want more.
To be content with your pay and benefits is a rare person, I don't know if its greed or just something
to complain about because they have nothing else to do or the media whips them into some frenzy
about how they deserve more but really if you budget you can do fine on any salary.
What! excuse me dear but pensioners worked for their pensions they contributed so folk that never had a job in their life get benefits and some that have kids and never married so they never need to work and are bigger spongers than OAP's I would think being at home all day having to heat their house pay for services if they ill and house bound and need care that the benefits which will be less than a woman who has kids with more than one father and who most likely has a man staying with them working also. The biggest scroungers in this country is the single mother that has never had a job in their life.Being old and ill and house bound is not a crime that cant be prevented but being unemployed and having kids and living on benefits for the rest of your life contributing FA can be prevented.
At almost 70 I have my steelworks company pension and the old age pension since I was 65. I do receive quite a bit more than the amount the asker mentions. I run a nice car, have my own house and never want for anything. I DONT waste money on phone cards, lottery cards, and the other things I can see many pensioners buying. I dont drink or smoke, other than an odd ounce of Herbal tobacco for my pipe.
I do tend to agree with the asker about pensioners never having had it so good. Most of us anyway.
Please accept my apologies for only getting £802.51 a month for the two of us. :-)
Many pensioners are having a bad time of it. It is not living within your means or making do, it is scraping enough cash together for food and transport or making the choice of eating or heating in the winter. People end up in a situation that is not of their making.
When you retire, I hope you have made enough provisions to be self sufficient.
Have you ever dealt with a shrinking budget?
Because you just throw around some numbers, and think: 'I'd sign up for that'. But you could easily miss something, and 1 of those somethings is shrinking-budget, if your Pay, or Benefits shrink on a year-to-year basis, you're either gonna have to shrink your costs too, or you'll get in trouble.
Most elderly can't shrink those costs(since most of them are medical), yet they're faced with shrinking benefits(benefits they worked, and paid for their entire working life, that were guaranteed, until Thatcher got her greedy-claws on it).
Pensioners EARNED THEIR KEEP, and the fact we're robbing them blind(to fill holes created by our own incompetence), to 'adjust to the times' is a major sign of disrespect from our side.
I get annoyed when hear old age pensioners moaning they deont get enough money,
To do what with , yer pension isnt so you can buy cigarettes and alchohol and drive big cars, its to feed you and take care of your financial needs,
one woman near me gets £144 a week thats her dwp benefit and state pension, and over and above that gets motability Disability living allowance of another £300 a month and yet she wants more also. free prescriptions, housing benefit, free bus and train travel.
BETTER OFF THAN MANY WORKING PENSIONERS OR UNEMPLOYED..AND NOW THEY WANT MORE.
