How about the great train robbery Ronnie Biggs , he was not captured but gave himself up to the British Police ,.He was ill so wanted to return to the UK for FREE treatment . he died in a care home a few years ago . PS- he fled to Brazil and lived there for many years , and also fathered a boy .

Try the FBI website usually about half the top twenty are escaped prisoners still on the run.

What I mean by successful escape is that the prisoners, well escaped and NOT YET caught.
It could be in history or very recently.
