However, the situation had nothing to do with Trayvon stealing anything. The wikipedia link below will summarize the events regarding the case.
Zimmerman reportedly spotted Trayvon cutting through some houses, on a Sunday evening, coming back into the gated community where he was temporarily staying with his Dad. GZ alleges Martin looked suspicious because he appeared to just be strolling around in the rain, looking closely at the houses and due to the fact he's never seen him in the neighborhood prior. GZ proceeds to pull his car over and call a non emergency police number, describing the events to the dispatcher and requesting police assistance.
Martin continues walking down the street, Zimmerman reportedly drives up the street, on the phone with the dispatcher and sees Martin again, this time walking up to his truck he just parked. GZ describes to the dispatcher Martin proceeded to run away at this point, and he leaves his parked truck and follows on foot, trying to convey which direction Martin ran to.
Zimmerman, by all accounts, lost Martin in the darkness. He eventually decides to meet with the police office en route, and provides his phone number and says to call him when they arrive. GZ ends the 4 minute call at approximately 7:15 pm, within minutes 911 calls begin pouring in, including one that captured the single fatal shot Zimmerman fired at Martin. By about 7:17 officers began to arrive on scene.
You got some long answers and opinions that do not address your question. I have seen no evidence of George Zimmerman owning any store. This goes against most of what has been stated in this case and I see nothing on line about this, store Zimmerman owned.
As willfully led by Al Sharpton, the Black Community (BC) is committed to condemning Zimmerman, in spite of the FACTS: #1) BC says “None of this would have happened if GZ stayed in vehicle”, But that’s flawed as Cornell Law Professor Jacobson explains:
“Getting out of the car, in itself, is not provoking the use of force. The prosecution would have to show Zimmerman started the fight, not merely that he was in a place he has a right to be. Even so, Zimmerman would have had legal protection even if he initiated contact if the counter-force were deadly or threatened serious bodily harm and there was no way to escape. There would be a fact issue if, as some reports say, Zimmerman were on the ground being beaten. These nuances will be lost in the media blitz, and you will hear how Zimmerman must be guilty because he got out of the car.”. #2) There was big Crime Wave @ Twin Lakes community, Z had every right & responsibility to monitor POTENTIAL thieves (like TM), on Community Grounds) It’s perfectly reasonable to follow the potential burglar on foot, if that’s the best way to watch him -@ Night- on community grounds (so again, Z had every right to exit vehicle).
#3) “7:12 PM - When asked by the dispatcher, Zimmerman agrees not to follow Trayvon, and his heavy breathing ends.” (American Thinker), So, the incident that followed was caused by Trayvon’s desire to confront Z.
#4) Trayvon did NOT have the right to turn & attack Zimmerman (for doing his job as Watchman) at any time: LA Times wrote: "Witness 6: ...black man on top of a lighter-skinned man 'just throwing down blows on the guy, MMA-style.' ", and "He also said the one calling for help was 'the one being beat up,' a reference to Zimmerman."…>> If you use your FISTS as WEAPONS then you are NOT “unarmed” (PROOF: the soccer referee that DIED from a 17 y/o player punching him just one time)… >> Not surprisingly, after 3 weeks, Witness 6 says he wasn’t sure who was throwing punches, BUT “He did not equivocate about who was on top, however. ‘The black guy was on top,’ he said.”…. So, WHICH version is accurate (the one Fresh after, OR the one 3 weeks later (which STILL asserts that TM was ontop, BTW)??... According to Barbara Tversky, professor emerita of psychology at Stanford University, the bottom line is this: "All other things equal, earlier recountings are more likely to be accurate than later ones. The longer the delay, the more likely that subsequent information will get confused with the target memory."
#5) “7:14-16 PM - After receiving a call from Dee-Dee, Trayvon has come back to confront Zimmerman.” (American Thinker).
#6) Miami Herald: Z's Medical Records from TM's attack: "broken nose, two black eyes and two cuts on the back of his head".
#7) Zimmerman (5’7.5”) was shorter than Martin (6’3”, according to Martin’s Family, says the Seattle Times).
#7.5) BC says “getting punched is no big deal.”!! Soccer referee Portillo DIED from a single punch from a player (a 17 y/o player, BTW)…Referee did NOT even get Knocked Out when punched, and still died!!
#8) Trayvon (a drug dealer) was kicked out of High School for Selling drugs to kids, showing TM had no problem destroying people, and even called himself the “No-Limit Ni**a”, exactly the type of Macho creep that would beat up a watchman for monitoring him. It’s more likely that TM beat up Z NOT b/c Z was a threat (as the BC claims), But rather b/c of macho toughness on TM’s part (he was PROUD to be a thug).
#9) The media never reported that TM was a “Purple Drank” user, (an important fact that could explain odd behavior that would have invited scrutiny from the Watchman)
#10) A typical confusion of the blacks is that Z was “pursuing” TM (contrary to regs) when in fact *pursuing* includes chasing to Capture (but, GZ was only following TM, not trying to capture him)!! Blacks say that being watched gave TM every right to beat up the watchman!!! (what a bunch of animals).

Connor your friend is an idiot and was likely listening to Chris Matthews. Slap him in the head and tell him never to watch MSNBC. He will thank you once he wakes back up.
My friend told me that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin because Trayvon was stealing from George's store. What was the name of Zimmerman's store? What was Trayvon stealing? If my friend wad wrong, where did he get this false article of information?
