It's one of the most storied sites in modern American history.

It is supposed to be the site where an alien spacecraft crashed in the 1950s. It is supposed to harbour the bodies of aliens, and the craft in top secret underground bunkers. It is supposed to be guarded to keep everyone away from the "supposed truth" about the aliens.

There are more myths, stories, and lies surrounding that area now than can be counted.

It is in actual fact a site of military secrets concerning machines of warfare. That's all it was. I don't even think they use the site anymore because of all the attention it has garnered from faked documentaries and stories concerning non existent aliens and spacecraft.

Area 51 is an infamous part of the American military secrets or just a holy site for the wannabes and dweebs of the Alien cults. Depending on what side of the fence you're on. (pun intended).

As for the gaurds at the gates? They are there to keep the massive amounts of idiots away from digging around the area looking for state secrets on aliens and such. Other than that; it's still a military site, the public are not welcomed there and the military posts military guards to keep them out.

That's why the guards are standing by the sites.

actually area 51 has become very polluted , to polluted for humans . most of the operation has been moved about 75 miles northwest of area 51

My guess is it's probably where the government stashes it's nuclear arsenal, and probably where they test other high tech weapons like drones and so forth.
