IMHO, it's vandalism pure and simple.
I think it's definitely art. It must take a lot of skill and talent to create designs. I see it as any other form of painting. It definitely can be seen as trash though, because it is vandalism. Cities spend thousands if tax dollars every year because of graffiti, but it's not like they have to keep cleaning it up, there are just certain standards and regulations. I don't think we should only blame graffiti artists(?) for this though. Society plays a huge role in what we believe in. When anything is censored it becomes taboo. An example is how us men love boobs, yet women cover them up and squeeze them together under skin tight shirts. If women always went topless, then we wouldn't be as attracted to boobs as we are now. If you look at the origins of graffiti, cavemen painted on walls with their hands. So I think it's instinctual and impulsive for some people to paint our walls.
Definitely art. The other day I saw someone had done graffiti of a beautiful owl high up on a building. All the passing works traffic could see it, it was lovely. I like to think of it as mischevious art (as long as the graffiti is pleasing to the eye of course). It is uplifting and interesting.
Depends on where it is and whether the owner of the property gave their approval.
The mindless morons who go around painting public property should have the spray cans shoved down their throats. It's not art it's vandalism.
Art of getting inside girls panties, by drawing trashy pictures on wall, wearing funny clothes. Acting like jackass helps too.
