A large part of the world thinks the US did get what it deserved, because the US had been inflicting devastation of the same kind all over the world in the years before 9/11. For instance, ten years earlier, the US carried out a massive attack in Panama when they caught Noriega, but destroyed buildings, killed 5,00 innocent people, and left 20,000 homeless. Americans do not seem to care about that, but it was very similar to what happened to New York on 9/11.
The problem is that most americans are blissfully unaware of what their government is doing to the rest of the world.
Certainly they did not deserve it.
However the reaction was not 100% positive. Seeking out and destroying the terrorists is the right and logical reaction. However little thought has gone into trying to understand why the terrorists were willing to kill themselves to attack the USA. A review of US foreign policy should be made.
Perhaps the USA should have a neutral policy towards Israel.

A victim of any criminal act deserves what he, she or it gets. That is what makes criminality so tempting, you can get, do, and achieve what you want illegally, immorally and insanely.
So any criminal act that anyone does anywhere for any reason really is lowering that person more than any victim whether the victim deserves it or not. Even though we can all play God by using criminal tactics it is only a short term victory.
Instead let God be God and let the people be the people. Eventually the truth will sort all this out.
Personally, I wouldn't wish what happened during 9/11 on any country in the world. Of course, in other countries there are things 100x more worse then that going on. These people, just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and all they were doing was their job. The people in that building, and in that plane had nothing to do with what was going on, that was something bigger than them. Innocent Lives were lost, people were forever emotionally damaged. It's not and never will be fair to attack and kill the ones who aren't responsible. But then again, nothing in this world is fair, and that's just how it is. No one deserves that though, I hope this question was a joke.
