Maybe you can't see the plane hit because there just isn't a good image of the plane hitting. Has that ever occurred to you?
Why do you need video to satisfy you that the pentagon was hit by a hijacked jet anyway? After all we have video of the world trade center towers being hit by hijacked jets and conspiracy theorists say the videos were faked, the planes were holograms, or missiles or whatever. So what is video supposed to prove? Besides, there is so much else to prove beyond any reasonable doubt what happened that we don't need clear video or images to prove the case.
Looking at the problem from a practical standpoint if you were in charge of pentagon security would you rely on camera's or boots on the ground for primary perimeter security? This isn't wal-mart. We are not talking about catching shoplifters here but keeping unwanted people off the property entirely. Can cameras do that? Would you use high definition high speed cameras aimed randomly at the sky or would you place normal cameras great for catching images of people walking but useless for catching images of 500mph aircraft in doorways and entry/exit points used by people and cars? I would argue that generally security cameras are not pointed at the sky to take pictures of attacking planes. They are aimed at ground level to take images of people and vehicles entering and exiting. Since there was no place to enter or exit on the side of the pentagon that was hit there was no reasonable expectation of high quality video images from that part of the building. It is a fact, and a fairly well known one that the pentagon does rely on patrols by the pentagon police for PRIMARY perimeter security instead of cameras. Boots on the ground are just better for the kind of security the pentagon requires.
Finally I guess I would say why does the pentagon need to end this discussion? What discussion is there to end? The overwhelming majority of people know and accept that a hijacked plane hit the pentagon. The doubts of a handful of people on the internet do not change what we know happened.

There is no debate about what hit the pentagon. As always truthers miss the big picture because they look for some obscure anomalous issue they can't explain and ignore so much in the process. It is just bad thinking.
"Missing video's" is one of those meme's that 9/11 Truthers invent to deliberately distract people from the absolutely overwhelming and irrefutable evidence that American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon. This is why I like to say that groups that use "Truth" in their name (9/11 Truth, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, etc, etc,...) are as much about truth as countries with "Democratic Republic" in their name are about Democracy. Don't fall for their crap.
I think there is a perception amongst the 9/11 Conspiracy crowd that the Pentagon must naturally be festooned with hundreds of high-speed, high-definition surveillance camera's in every nook and cranny and therefore there has to be an abundance of footage showing "what really happened." That such footage has not been released (absence of evidence) is to them "proof" of a cover-up.
But they are wrong. Video, which has to be monitored to be effective at all, is the best form of security, right? Oh that's right, it isn't. It is useful for loss prevention but locked doors, armed guards, restricted access, and vigilant watch by those granted that access are all much, much more effective. This is why the Pentagon to this day relies primarily on foot patrol by the Pentagon Police - security is done by human beings on patrol, not sitting behind a desk ignoring a video monitor. They certainly would not have a high-speed (several hundred FPS), high-resolution camera such as would be required to capture useful images of an aircraft flying low at 500+mph, aimed at the sky on a side of the building with no ingress/egress points.
In the aftermath of the attack the FBI collected surveillance camera footage as possible evidence. According to the CT'er, who is always looking for the smoking gun in the evidence that doesn't exist one or more of these cameras holds that "smoking gun" proving an inside job. In response to a Freedom of Information Act request the FBI identified 85 video's that it had acquired by various means and tagged as evidence in the 9/11 case. CT'ers assume this means there are 85 videos showing the attack but all that represents is an accounting of the number of videos obtained, not what they show. One video for example was taken from a Kinko's in Florida. It is unlikely to give us a clear, high-resolution view of the attack.
According to the FBI "56 of these videotapes did not show either the Pentagon building, the Pentagon crash site, or the impact of Flight 77 into the Pentagon on September 11." Of the remaining 29 videotapes, 16 "did not show the Pentagon crash site and did not show the impact of Flight 77 into the Pentagon." Of the 13 remaining tapes, 12 "only showed the Pentagon after the impact of Flight 77." Only one tape showed the Pentagon impact: the Pentagon's own security camera footage, that would later be released in 2006 after being used as evidence in the Moussawi trial. It was taken by a low resolution Philips LTC 1261 TV security camera at a checkpoint in the entrance to a parking lot. This camera was recording at one frame per second and had a limited field of view of the impact site. This camera at its location would have been entirely incapable of taking a clear image of a Boeing 757 moving at 780 feet/237.9 meters per second.
Frankly I suspect if a clear high resolution video of Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon did exist the Truthers would merely proclaim in a forgery out of hand and dismiss it anyway so what's the point? We don't need the video anyway. We have 136 witnesses on record including 2 pilots who saw Flight 77 fly into the Pentagon (and more importantly zero witnesses who saw anything else). We have the light pole, tree, generator and taxi cab evidence. The large quantities of clearly identifiable aircraft debris found at the site. The Purdue university simulation which concluded the damage to the Pentagon is absolutely consistent with the impact of a Boeing 757. We have the recovered FDR which matches the radar data precisely. We have the admission from the airline and its insurers that it was Flight 77. And finally we have the remains of all of the passengers, crew and hijackers of Flight 77 recovered from the Pentagon site, some still strapped in their seats when they were found. Whether or not a clear video exists is a moot point. We simply don't need it to prove Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. Stop looking for the evidence that isn't and pay attention to that which is. That is what a real investigator does.

Look closely at the one video that the government released. Whatever hit the Pentagon did not have a rudder (large, rear, vertical fin). All airplanes must have a rudder in order to fly. There isn't a government on this planet that doesn't lie to its people.
It's classified. The DoD does not want enemies to analyze that video and be able to damage the Pentagon more than the 9/11 plane did.
If you see the damage that was done to the Pentagon, it could not possibly been hit by a large plane. There are plenty of videos on the web that show the damage done and how ridiculous it is that a huge passenger plane flew into the building.
We were told that an airplane hit the Pentagon. The Pentagon has the best surveillance on Earth. On the day of 9/11? They confiscated video from a gas station nearby. The Pentagon has ALL the photographs and videos of what happened that day.
Why won't the Pentagon release one damn video or photograph that shows the plane hitting the building. Oh, people have asked! The Pentagon says that information is Classified Information. Why is one lousy picture of the actual plane hitting the Pentagon Top Secret?

I want you to give me a logical reason why the taxpayers and victims of 9/11 can't see a picture or some video of this plane that hit the building. Do not tell me about those assinine pictures that show the big fireball that happened AFTER the plane hit. I want to see the plane. Why can't we see this plane? How can this be Top Secret? It's ridiculous!
