Amercan Laws stop at the USA borders
Nope. It was the Americans who supported the taking out of Diem in South Vietnam.... and they tried to do the same to Castro.
But before you crucify him, remember that N Korea had signed a treaty pledging no first use of nukes while the USA hasn't. Also, nobody but the Americans have ever used a nuke in anger.
Officially the US does not take out foreign leaders, but there are always exceptions like the despotic types such as Fidel Castro and Saddam Hussein (both several times at least). Besides with all the US military bases in South Korea I don't think he would have much luck considering they would take out the weapon before it even launched.
I agree with "Pooh Bear". It is illegal under American law to assassinate foreign leaders but the CIA has attempted to kill Castro many times. They attempted to kill Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia several times in the 1950's and 1960's and managed to have him overthrown in a coup in March 1970. They also attempted to kill other leaders, and have succeeded with some South American and African leaders along with having others overthrown..
America could do it if they wanted to, but it could potentially hurt relationships with other countries. As it is, they're not doing anything bad actively and it's unnecessary. And he resides in North Korea, not China. Doing a solo mission there would be difficult because it's difficult to get in, and when you do, you're constantly watched.
It is officially against US foreign policy to assassinate foreign leaders.
Have we always followed that? No. We have not. The CIA has tried a few times to assassinate Castro, and there undoubtedly been others...
He would just be replaced by someone else.
I just wanna drop that kid.. threaten us with nukes, braking promises, I don't see much action comming out of the US on this think I wanna do a solo mission next time I'm in China.
