I am not an American,but this is another petition like the crazy one that demanded Piers Morgan be deported. President Obama has to respond if it gets over 100,000. In Piers case he reminded everyone that Piers had the freedom of speech in America.

I doubt the Alaska one will get even 100 but if it did then I expect Baracks response would be to laugh !

Alaska is a state of your union. It wont be given back to Russia.End of story,and you would not find Any Americans asking to be Russians. Britons would not do so either.

To properly answer your question,fantastic as it is,if Alaska were suddenly to become Russian territory the American citizens on it would stay as such and probably move to another state ? They would have to apply to be Russians,but it would depend on the rules made on take-over.?

That is just a petition. Alaska isn't going anywhere. It is too important for defence.

But, if it did, people could come back to the lower 48, a territory, Hawaii, or anywhere else they wanted to be.

I mean what would happen to the citizens of Alaska who are citizens of the US? Would they automatically become citizens of Russia if they don't move out? This is crazy.
