I had just turned 10 years old 10 days before and I was at school in the 5th grade. But for some reason they didn't tell us at our elementary school because they didn't want the kids to panic so my mom sat me down and told me as soon as I got home.
I must have been about 8 or 9 and in 4th grade. We were all doing our work when my teacher got a call. She turned on the news and all of us watched as the planes struck the buildings. Later that day my mom picked me up and I have no memory after that.
At my elementary school where I was counselor. Going to talk to the principal about a former student when he said something really bad had happened. We had no internet, so, we were sort of in the dark about all the news. We made the decision not to turn on the tv's. 3rd-6th grade. They turned on the tv's at the middle school where my daughter was and she said people were screaming and going up and down the hall about cousins in NYC. We're in South Carolina.
We knew ours would have panicked and it was too tragic with no explanation to try and explain. The next day they knew and some watched the tv coverage. We tried to talk to them then without really knowing what to tell them. Just let them talk.
I was at work and went up to the roof of my building in time to see the second plane hit. I saw the horrible flame and building collapse. The very awful scenes of that day will live in my mind forever. The horrid smell that spread over lower Manhattan and was carried into Brooklyn wouldn't let us forget for even a few second the tragedy that occurred. In NYC, it still feels like yesterday.
Watching events on TV, at work. My company had offices in Twin Towers, but would not have personally know any employee, but still was very concerned. Also, they closed off the down town area, Salt Lake City.
I was in my 9th grade class in high school 2nd period when our neighbor math teacher came running into our classroom, turned on the tv and said USA will never be the same. That day we spent all day watching news coverage of the attacks, when I got home I watched cnn at home it was crazy to think a terrorist could use planes as missiles to knock down americas tallest skyscrapers.
I was 20, I was working nights at the time so I was asleep. My room mate woke me up saying we just got bombed, I thought he said robbed. Then I cam out to the living room and saw the second plane hit. A very sad day.
i was listening to Britney Spears at my aunts house, and my mom came in and told me. My other aunt actually worked at the twin towers. My mom told me that she was always early for work everyday. But on 9/11 she was late, she was about to leave for work and she was looking for something on the terrace
I'd been out grocery shopping. When I got back there was a phone message from my mother to watch CNN. I turned it on just in time to see the second plane hit.
I was only like 2 or 3 and I was in the shopping cart at walmart (:
I was only 7 years old but I have no memory of 9/11 happening or where I was when it happened. Where were you?
