When the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan years ago, the U.S. used Pakistan
as a base from which to supply the "mujaheddin" with weapons and training.
Thousands of stinger missile launchers were supplied - shoulder-mounted ground
to air weapons. They blasted hundreds of Soviet helicopters out of the air, and
helped to send the Soviets packing back home.
When that happened, the Taliban - religious crazies - turned against the U.S.
and took over Afghanistan. They welcomed Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda to set
up a number of guerrilla training camps.
Eventually, the U.S. and its allies had to invade Afghanistan, defeat the Taliban,
and drive Osama across the border in to Pakistan.
They finally tracked down bin Laden and killed him. (Yes, there are a lot of
conservative lunatics who insist that he's still alive, but they need medical care
for their mental illness.)
No. He started training a group of jihadists using money from the U.S. through a CIA program. This all started while Jimmy Carter was in office, a tidbit many people either don't know or want to ignore.
CIA agent "tim osman" = Bin Laden

"Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden's organisation would turn its attention to the west."

Osama Bin Laden was announced dead eleven years ago. He was announced dead in Pakistan in 2002 by President Musharraf. In 2003 the head of the FBI said he was dead. In 2005 a US senator stated that OBL was dead. In 2006 French Intelligence said he was dead. In 2007 Benazir Bhutto announced he was dead. 2009, the Pakistani President said Americans hadn't heard from Bin Laden for 7 years.

It's purported that he was. Whether or not this is true is anybody's guess. Cheers.
Was Osama really trained by the US? Please be descriptive and detailed to be chosen as best answer
