Was Osama Bin Laden fond of the British?

Well his family and other ruling families of 'Saudi' Arabia were placed in power by Britain and the 'Kingdom' of Saudi Arabia was created by Britain so it is unlikely he would have hated Britain without any real reason to do so. If he 'hated' America for any reason it was probably because he resented the love and regard Americans have for Israel while having no interest at all in Arab peoples or culture. This is not something Americans do consciously, they just love Israel because they see them as God's chosen people. But who knows why some folks love or hate a country. Idi Amin may have ridiculed and hated Britain publicly, but he had an British Air Force Transport plane land every week with supplies of Scotch Whisky and other booze along with video tapes of Tom and Jerry cartoons he so loved, yes, Mr Amin was a lifelong fan of Tom and Jerry and watched every episode with rapt attention and laughed and laughed at the Cat and Mouse fun and games.

Any man who encourages his followers to blow themselves to bits for martyrdom isn't FOND of anyone. Maybe he wasn't publically hateful to the British but the July 7th 2005 attacks on the London transports system were his organizations doing and he was patting his back own too. "Keep up the good work, kill the westerners even if you must die you know I am fond of you...if you need me I'll be hiding in Pakistan.

Of course he was. Osama bin Laden deeply regretted every terrorist attack he had to authorize against Great Britain. Everyone knows that.

I wouldn't think so. The British occupied Afghanistan alongside Americans and Canadians, and still do. But then again, who really knows what the crazy bastard thought?

If I was British I would hope not, he was pure evil.

Who knows ? but remember Hitler was pretty chummy with us.

I am unsure, I wouldn't think so.

I know he hated Americans and Israelis with a passion as well as the French people. Whenever I looked at his quotes however there seems to be no ill feelings towards Britain and British people whatsoever even though Britain had a huge empire. He was also a proper Arsenal FC and brought the T shirts for his son. In his very few interviews with Westerners he was being interviewed by a British man and Osama Bin Laden seemed very fond of him and called the British interviewer his "brother". So did Osama Bin Laden have a soft spot for British people even though he disliked Westerners in general?
