I was camping up in British Columbia along with my spouse and another couple.
The first we heard about it was when one of the other campers saw our US license plate and told us that something had happened. We went into Whistler where we found a restaurant with a TV and watched the broadcast.
The daughter of one of our group worked in a nearby building and naturally her mother was worried. We were able to get her online at an Internet cafe. Fortunately the daughter had sent her mother an email. It seems that she had taken that day off to take her cat to the veterinarian and was fine.
I was sitting down with a former demolition buddy discussing the events when the north tower blew up.
He looks at me and says, controlled demolition.
Later in the day, around 521 pm he calls me up and says the building 7 went down the same way but a British news release reported it down 22 minutes prior.

I wore a dress-shirt with a tie and bluejeans.

I would really like to know where you wore and what you wore doing on 9/11 and if you have any stories from friends or family.
Basically I live in England and I came home from school cause I was Ill to find my nan at my house crying I was I think about eight years old and my uncle was suppost to be in the 1st tower at that time cause he is a accountant and he had a meeting there and we only knew because he was really excited about going there cause his career was taking off and I asked what was wornt and they told me he had possibly died maybe, because back then you couldn't make mobile phone calls from England to America my nan and mum wore really scared, they called his office in London and they didn't know if he had cheakd in or not and then they called the one in new York and they found out he hadnt checked in. Are uncle called us about 3 hours later to tell us why had happend and how lucky he was to sleep in and miss his meeting, he woke to find NYC in bits and it's strange because he set 2 alarms that morning and had asked the hotel to call him aswell to wake him but they didn't.
