or is it the police pushing fans into the ground?
or both?
At the time I was on holiday with a friend in the area and got the sad news as soon as it happened. There had been a lot of trouble with football hooligans who stormed onto the pitch so we thought that was what had happened, and it seems the Sun newspaper said it was the fans charging in.?
I do know in the intervening years this version of it has been said to be wrong ? I know the police perhaps were wrong to open the doors, but I still maintain if the fans had not been charging into the ground it would not have happened.
The police watch a documentary. The man in charge had been in the job 21 days, the officer in charge before him was sacked as some officers had pulled a gun on a new officer and kidnapped him as a 'prank'.
Officers who wouldn't change their statements and blame the fans had their statements altered illegally.
fans did not rush the gate police said that the fans forced the gate open but it's come out now that the police opened it and pushed people in and some goods police officers have admitted they told fans they didn't want to see the tickets just go in. They wasn't drunk if you watch the documentary that's also clear even by the footage you can clearly see by people's faces that they are not drunk.
Both. Following the immense amount of vandalism and violence caused by football matches from the 1980s and the Police incompetence in dealing with it, football matches should be on radio and television only with no public admittance to the grounds
Was found to be the police letting and pushing too many into the ground
The Fans, Just because the gates open doesn't mean you have to keep pushing. Doesn't matter who opened the gates, standing and queuing and a bit of patience would of prevented the tragedy. We don't need another inquest.
We wouldnt need another inquest if the first one had looked at the evidence. The police tampered with the evidence.
the police or the fans? apparently some fans rushed to get in even some without tickets, or even due to some being drunk.
