Pool parties are always fun :D but if you're not in to those try something like a cook-out!
Depends, how old are you turning? you could hire a Dj (they have lights turntables, smoke machine, laser light show) they make any ordinary house party so much better.
Play paintball. Im not kidding, try it. It's good for parties, fun, lasts a while, and is unique.
