He was looking out for his Country and nobody can fault anyone for doing that.
I don't know much about him but he seems like an honorable man.
Not much to discuss. He invented a gun that can serve a good purpose when in the right hands and a bad purpose when in the wrong hands. He never felt any guilt for his invention, and rightfully so. This gun has been a contribution to many nations and just another tool for freedom fighters. There have been other guns. If it was used against the US in the Vietnam war than you can't blame the Vietnamese soldiers for using this gun. The US had no business being in Vietnam in the first place. They should have minded their own business and a lot of lives would have been saved.
As with everything in life, there are good and there are bad aspects to all developments.
The trick is to grant liberty to all who ae responsible and restrict all who have proven they act irresponsibly. Then the technology becomes a benefit to all. We can all enjoy Liberty and suppress the Elitist Tyrants who fear us responsible citizens.
Too much Power in the hand of only a few guarantees tyranny. America's Founders understood that fact and gave us a Constitution that assures tyranny will never happen if we just understand and Follow the principles outlined in the Constitution and in the Bill of Rights, the document on which the Constitution is based.
really sad event he was genius man and patriotic nd of course contribute to the good reputation of russian weapons
-Not me. He was a Decent Man- who invented what He Thought was BEST for His Country. And NO-body should fault Him for THAT... :)

Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov Russian citizen and patriot. Proud father of the AK47 has passed at 94. No matter the uses his invention has been put to? Can anyone dispute the contribution to his nation and the world's real freedom fighters?
