I love this question, because I was recently thinking about this. Screw the fear I think it should have been two towers like before but bigger and more beautiful. I think this new one was a cheap substitute for the former two. Also it was a symbol of American economic power and replacing two with one is less not more.
In a separate theory many modern scientists think that everything in universe is in pears or in two's. For example. Modern cities resemple human beings and their internal organs everything in universe is in pears. For example. We have two eyes, two lungs, two brains, and cities resemple that. we have in 24 hours day and night. Traffic going into the city and traffic comming out of the city. These two towers were a more natural reseblance of US economy and universe in general. Replacing it with one one is a castration, amputation. Its like a pirate with one eye or single leg. Its a sciclope. Its a brother who lost his twin brother. Its not good for harmoniouse business and economic activity. What I would do is build another one right next to it, exactly the same one or build twin towers some place near by and call that a new wrodl trade organization. Hell I would call it a Gallactic Prosperity Towers. Think Big, think grandiouse....
The problem was cost in the current economy. The twin towers were never a real economic success.
No. The WTC was and is a major target for terrorism and it will only be a matter of time until terrorists will try to bring down the new buildings. I feel that if they had to rebuild them, and I can see why they would to send a message, that they should not have built them so high. I just hope I don't live long enough to see the next attack on the WTC. Twice was more than enough for me.
Why? Is it 1964? Why would you repeat a 50 year-old building when we can do much better today? Why do the new towers have to be taller than the old one? Is this a pissing contest or is there an actual business reason to do so?

Like, the freedom tower looks great and all but wouldn't it have been better if Twin Towers 2 were built? Two twin towers that are higher than the original? Wouldn't this be better? Or would it cause fear of a 2nd 9/11?
