Which Kennedy? Lee Oswald may not have been trying to kill JFK specifically, he seems to have just shot a volley of Bullets into JFK's car. Anyway, he denied killing the President, despite overwhelming evidence that he did. Oswald was given to melodramatic actions such as shooting himself and trying to slash his wrists, in this case he vented his anger on Politicians.

Oswald wasn't trying to kill Kennedy. He was aiming at the driver of the car, who he found out was banging his wife, Kennedy and Connally just got in the way. He was just a bad shot. Sorry now the truth is out there.
I assume you're referring to President John Kennedy. The guy was a nut case. He wanted to kill someone prominent and the president happened to wander by. He had already tried to shoot the governor of Texas and missed.
Nobody Knows... Because his Assassin- Lee Harvey Oswald- was killed Himself, just a few Days later- before He could be Questioned about it... ;)
