I will never forget her performance in "Queen of the Damned." I had never seen her before.
I had always heard of beauty that was breathtaking, but I'd never experienced it myself. When Aaliyah came on the screen? I actually stopped breathing for a few seconds. I forgot about the movie and everything else. She was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen.
I can now say that I have seen beauty that stole my breath away. I never thought such a thing was possible.
Aaliyah died August 25, 2001. She perished in a plane crash in the Bahamas, and she never got to see the public reaction to her in that film. She was amazing!

So I remember in the third grade people talking about someone named Aaliyah dieing in a plane crash and during the third grade that was between the year 1999-2000 and I remember being freaked out because I thought they said one of my classmates who has the same name died but they were talking about a singer. So I was doing research on Aaliyah and everywhere it states she died August 2001 and during that time I was in the fifth grade at a different school and it is burned into my memory that happening when I was in third grade so I am very confused why the websites are all saying 2001 when I perfectly remember when I was 8 years old thinking one of my class mates died on a plane.
So what was the real year? Was it really 2001?
