You have a large group of people on motorcycles harassing a car (SUV, whatever.) He had plenty of reason to feel that his life, and the lives of his wife and baby, were in danger. The bikers were trying to force the SUV off the road and get them to stop. Eventually Alexian got off the freeway in an attempt to get away from the bikers. This was actually a mistake as he got stuck in traffic which allowed the bikers to surround him.
In that situation, the first rule is: DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR.
Did you miss the part of the video where one biker blocked the SUV while another biker tried to open the door to drag the guy out of the car? Or how about later when they caught up to him again when one of the riders started bashing at the windows of the SUV with his helmet? Yeah, that's not when you get out and try to exchange insurance information. You do exactly what Alexian did - YOU GET THE F*** OUT OF THERE.
Alexian acted out of self defense - for himself and for his family. The dumb@ss that blocked his SUV and got run over is lucky to only be paralyzed, and not dead.
This was not a traffic accident. It was harassment and assault by the bikers.
With the exception of the @sshole bikers and their friends, every one sided with Alexian's actions. Even the police and other (responsible) bikers.
I think so, it depends on the bike rider and the range rover driver.
Maybe the story by Jeanine Pirro will help you understand what was happening that day.
Okay, I know this is old news, but I just came across it recently. Everyone seems to sympathize with Alexian while I don't see how they can. Here is a brief summary:

So.. from my perspective, there was a group of motorcycles. One rider tried to slow the car by slowing down, but he was instead struck. Yes, this was the rider's fault. However, I don't understand why Alexian doesn't get out of his car and settle this matter. This was a traffic accident. It was completely irrational of him to assume that a group of bikers would be "bad". Wasn't it? Then in his irrationality, he speeds and runs over a human being, paralyzing him. So in response, the bikers catch up and beat him. But can you blame the bikers? They watched their friend become a horrific hit and run victim. After Alexian's beating he is not paralyzed but just required stitches. So the "victim" got off without any life impairments while he ran over someone that had gotten off his bike.
Is Alexian not at fault? Because in reality, if he stepped out of the car to help out the person he struck. Then I think the whole situation could have been avoided and he wouldn't be responsible for paralyzing someone. Shouldn't Lien get some sort of reprimand?
