It is hard to say how she ended up with that shade of tan, but I do know of some other people who are addicted to tanning. A salon will only allow you to do one session per day, but since so many cities have more that one salon, it is easy to have multiple memberships. I knew of a couple of women in my town that went twice a day to tanning salons, once in the morning and once in the evening to two different salons. Besides that , they would usually lay outside for a couple hours on any day that the weather permitted. There skin didn't look like Krentcil's, but it was close. I wonder if Krentcil is so addicted to the color of the tan that she also does spray on tans in between tanning bed sessions to enrich the color.
I also agree that she is in extremely high risk for skin cancer and possible issues with her vision if she isn't using the eye protection for all those tanning sessions.
Wow..this is weird..I feel as though I'm the 'missing link' between the two types of people:
Those who have never set foot into a tanning salon and who have worn heavy sunblock every time they walk outside
vs
Those who have worshipped the sun and soaked it up since they were babies
I suppose I could be categorized as a 'reformed sun worshipper', for as much as I have always loved being in the sun and tanning, it IS not a healthy activity, it DOES lead to skin cancer, it will prematurely age people who over-do it, and so there you go. Tanning salons/booths were removed from the Sports Club LA, and most spas, private spas, l and luxury resorts. Tanning salons have all but disappeared since the recent studies (as in the last 15 years) revealed that tanning salons are extremely dangerous and the bad far outweighs the good. (There are even reports that overexposure to tanning bed bulbs can affect ones internal organs)..melanomas, skin cancer, wrinkles, premature aging, a leathering and thickening of the skin..all bad things for anyone, but when you stop to think that most (if not all) tanning bed users are into their appearance and bodies, they are doing exactly the wrong thing.
The commercials and TV shows I worked on promoted self-tanners and so I have been using them forever. They do manufacture a couple that do not have that orange look, but for the most part, they all look a bit odd if applied several times. One, light coat of self-tanner looks fairly natural. I used tanning beds periodically, maybe once or twice per week (about 15 Min's per session) for a month to three months) when I was very busy with shoots, and I have to admit, I really loved it! Those 15 minutes of being in that warm, glowy tanning bed..it was great! But I haven't stepped foot into a tanning salon in about 5 years.
(Studies have also shown that limited exposure to tanning bed bulbs can be beneficial, in that vitamin D is supplied). Regions where the sun doesn't shine for months have documented season related depression, which is reduced when people use tanning beds during these months. That is a little tidbit that tanning bed fanatics cling to..trying desperately to prove to the world that they aren't completely crazy!
I saw a program that another tanning fanatic was on, and they also included the woman who was compelled to consume chalk, and the woman who drinks laundry detergent. Some people have OCD, are prone to mania. Some will refuse treatment and can become consumed with their compulsion, as with this tanning bed woman.
Growing up in Southern California meant that I was in the sun constantly and having a job that basically translated into running around in a bikini on commercials and TV shows for much of my life = artificial self-tanners, tanning salons, as well as 'real' sun exposure. (not to mention having my entire body air-brushed bronze before every shoot).
If one has a very orange/tangerine tinge to their skin that usually indicates that the person is using self-tanners or is having it air-brushed on at the tanning salon. Most tanning salons refer to this as 'Mystic Tan', and it's kind of like a human car wash set up. The person strips down, dons goggles, and applies a block to the palms and anything they would rather not 'tan'. Big misters filled with tanning solution will mist you. This is rubbed in and over the course of a couple to a few hours, it will develop into a dark 'tan'. It's actually a stain that will stay on the skin for about a week or so.
People who are real tan-fanatics will also use the tanning beds and obtain a 'real' tan.. And some will then lie in the sun, apply bronzers..seeking that perfect, bronzed color.
I'm not sure what the attraction is about having a tan, as I prefer to be pale & interesting.
Tanning machines incur health risks & I'm told it's a bit like starving for a size '0' or using drugs,
it's addictive.
And she's that awful colour because she's obviously overdone it!
EDIT & update.
I've just read she's been charged with child endangerment, see link below.
She has an unlimited tanning package at the salon, and goes in several times a week.
Years of unhealthy tanning. She's probably in the salon once a week if not more. She'll most likely get cancer and die.
It's photo shopped. I saw a different pic of the same lady looking normal. I can't understand why MSN did that. If you look close you can tell it isn't real. Even people with extreme tans don't look like that. That pic makes her look like someone dipped her in a bucket of ****.
I've used tanning booths in the past, but what she's has done to herself is gross.
That is clear abuse of the tanning bed, no doubt. She is grotesque in appearance. I see skin cancer in her future.
she has a mental disorder. she looks horrible. what is so wrong with one's natural skin tone?
Um i would like to know why patricia krentcil, that tanning lady who adores tanns, is so brownish orange. I mean how you a person possiby get her skin color that way? i m just facinated yet flabergated by this eheh.
sorry
