we should have common sense jury service.
No and it's because Religious Law Courts are quite separate from the English and Scottish Law Courts.
The Church of England Courts
The Jewish Courts
and the Sharia Courts
all mainly deal with family matters and so forth. What these courts do is take some of the strain off the main English and Scottish courts, thus allowing them to get on with the business of dealing directly with matters of concern to England and Scottish Law.
No one is exempt from Jury service unless they have a criminal record are insane or have reached the age of 70+ when apparently we're no longer able to function properly which makes no sense to me as a 73 year old because I know the moment I see the accused in the dock that it's him/her what dunnit.
Twelve Angry Men
As long as everyone is under the same law everyone should have to support jury service. No exemption other than on health grounds.
Yeh, actually
They should be Exempt.
Their Beliefs are completely incompatible with ours
No they shouldn't. And they aren't, just in case you were trying to suggest they are...

no but they should declare that fact i reckon, if i was as roger would like facing execution for calling extremist islamites names for killing innocent people around the world, i'd hope my tuppence state lawyer would inquire as to there being any of the sharia persuasion amongst my judgemental peers.
One law for all, one legal system for everyone.
Yes. I would not want any of those nutcases deciding my fate if I was in the dock.
Should followers of Sharia law and other religious laws be allowed to be exempt for having to attend UK jury service, seen as their beliefs are different?
