Because, Mag, it was a symbol of American might. The towers were banks & represented the power of the dollar. The killing of innocents is called terror. Terror is used to suppress others. Terror was used by the Huns invading Europe, Mao against his own people & Stalin, who killed millions. We didn't stop them because we can't read minds. We don't know what others plot. Rhodesia once was a peaceful country & it's currency was sound. That did not stop the communists from using terror to over throw the government. Today, Zimbabwe is bearly holding together. Jobs are scarce & the Rhodesean dollar is worthless.
