its called optimism
Remember throughout the weekend, the BBC were pushing microphones into people's faces, asking if England was good enough to reach the semi-finals. Many gave clear and thought out answers, but there were more then a couple who offered a 'Wind Balotelli up, and we'll be through' plan - as if that was all that was needed. Or maybe the more seasoned fans out there realised none of the better teams were all that great, and England could get on in the tournament for that reason only. We might have been able to push on through if we had brought Rooney off at half-time, as so much hope was placed on him.
Hope over experience.
This was on the cards when Booking blocked Harry, when Crouch was left at home, when Rooney was allowed on to the pitch, when you can't remember the last time a team of Englishmen won the top prize in English Football.
Everybody ready for the World Cup? And the chances of England getting to the finals are . . . . ?
There hoping ! in my opinion we lose because its either the players are paid too much money therefore have the don't care attitude or England's coaches are too old fashioned in there training technics & not up to date ! compared with other country's training. mind you wasn't the goalkeeper crap !
Its absurd they don't use the talent in ALL of Britain with out splitting us up into English,Scots, etc. We are one nation called Great Britain and that is what our football team should be called.
We have split our teams up - a British team would be more of a force to be reckoned with
Eternal hope.
they could have won, Rooney's last effort wasn't that far off.
the "great" british DELUSION.
I was amazed they got to the end, but we cannot do penalty's.....
