I guess they had a blind spot somewhere.
Have you bothered actually reading and understanding the article? It is blatantly obvious that the hijackers were several steps ahead, and made it all happen so fast that NORAD didn't stand a chance, including switching the squawk off so they could not be tracked on radar. It didn't help that both American Airlines and New York ATC kept quiet about what they knew till it was too late for NORAD to act on the second attack. And then ATC refused to allow the fighters to orbit over Manhattan, where they would be close enough to make a difference. Then there are several more occasions when ATC/FAA know something important (United 93) and fail to tell NORAD.
So don't blame NORAD - the entire thing shows that almost everyone except NORAD was asleep at the wheel.

It just shows how ineffecient NORAD must be. Britain has splendidly protected the olympic games.
Didn't Mr Dick Cheney send them off to do some errands for him? The biggest puzzle of all, is how any plane got even close to the Pentagon!!!! All very iffy if you ask me ;-)
