Why does horrible music sell so well these days.?

Horrible to you maybe but to the buyers it's not. I think it's a generational thing. My parents didn't like the music I was buying and I'm not too impressed with most of today's music.

I wonder the same thing, I'm disappointed in this generation for liking terrible music. Like One Direction, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Lil wayne, and Crap like that.

But most of the buyers are tasteless teenage girls.. Everyone likes their own type of music. And they just happen to like stuff like that.

Mostly marketing and advertising. People are susceptible, especially younger teens, and will believe something is cool because it's on tv or the pop internet sites. The don't really get that marketing is trying to convince them that it's cool. There's also an uncertainty at that age of being different from popular trends.

Wow... I honestly have no idea why horrible music do actually sell so well these days. It could be just from your own opinion that you think the artists you listed above aren't good, but I mean I enjoy their music. There are millions and millions of studio albums, mix-tapes, and singles out there that fans just go crazy for. They just go right ahead and end up purchasing it a lot.

Music is an art. As with other arts, the good or bad of it is with the beholder. Classic example: I'm 61 now. When I was a teen, my parents were teens in the 1940's. You should have seen the troubled look on their faces when I was singing..."I am the Walrus...goo goo ga joob."

Simply put it. Media and endorsment. Beiber was helped along by Usher, who had alot of influence on music listeners. Personally, makes me like Usher even less

They should listen to good music like Saosin (sadly they broke up) but its still very good and I

listen to them all the time

I think Jim Morrison said it well in his quote, "Whoever controls the media, controls the mind."

i don't know how do people like "an artist" like lady gaga ?

Look at the people who are buying most of it.

They are young and callow. They have uneducated tastes.

from artist like justin bieber to katty perry lady gaga lil wayne justin timberlake. even if their album sells over 3 million its first week. does not mean it good. it just means it popular and their a differance between good music and popular music so people need to stop acting like record sales mean something.

because the younger generation is stupid and parents don't know how to raise kids, unless those parents are near 50 they know how to, if they're not they don't.

If you try one direction you are in for a real treat I promise you. They really can sing.

Its a trend.

horny teenage girls...
