Why America still use the old measuring system?

While the REST of the world love the metric system?

The metric is used more often in the US than most may think. Almost every person who goes to school in the US is taught both methods. States that border Canada report weather in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. Nearly every single product that is a liquid is shown the amount in OZ and ML. Just look at any food product sold in the US. You will find under "nutritional facts" that everything is weighed in grams or milligrams. Liters are commonly use as measurement. ALL healthcare professionals use the metric system, although both systems are used in healthcare, the metric system is more widely used. Meteorologist use both. Our marathons are measured in metric units (5k, 10k, 20k...) I can go further into detail but I think I got the point across.

We are exposed to both systems our whole lives, and a lot of Americans can easily use both, but for simple everyday measurements we are more accustomed to seeing feet, miles and Fahrenheit rather than meters, kilometers and Celsius.

We are still waiting for the rest of the world to change back to the old system which in my opinion is actually pretty good.

The number 12 can be divided by 1,2, 3, 4, 6 & 8 & 9 to some degree.

The number 10 can only be divided by 1,2 & 5/.

Plus one's weight & height & the temperature sound horrible under the metric/Celsius scales.

Come on back where a mile is a mile.

The US has been okay with the old system, so why should we change? There was a push to go metric in the 1970's but it failed.

Why should it change? The U.S. would have to spend billions of dollars on a campaign to change the weights and measure system that is on EVERYTHING in the U.S. now. Waste of time and money to change it. The current system works just fine for this country and everyone here already uses it.

Why should we? Let the world come to us.
