1) The sphere was broken into pieces and the Vatican has the majority of it.
2) Hitler paid major $$$ for it during WWII & it remains hidden in the place he stashed it before killing himself.
Please keep in mind that Both theories are just that - theories - and cannot be substantiated by fact.
The sphere of destiny is the sphere used by the guards to puncture Christ's side while he was being crucified. Hitler was interested in owning this because legend has it that those who possess it wield great power. There's evidence that backs up both Hitler's and the Vatican's claim.
These was no steel bsck then so rust was unheard of. This was the brass prior to bonze age and long before steel or iron. AND that si if there was such as thing as the spear of destiny.
The spear was located in a vault commissioned by Henry Himmler under the castle of Nuremberg between 1942 and 1945.
It was then retrieved by general Patton special unit during the invasion of Germany by the allies in 1945.
Patton believed that the spear was a symbol of war and not a religious nor a work of art. He wanted to take it back to the United States. Before that happened Patton died in a accident in Germany and the spear was sent back to Austria where it currently is.
Although there are legends regarding the mystical powers if the spear of destiny the artifact is simply a the tip of a spear ( no wood ) with no powers of any kind.
The spear was tested for any biological material (blood) but no traces were found. It was also tested for age and the results showed the spear was only 800 years AD . Was then renamed as the Vienna spear and it's believed that it was a replica.
I hope this helps.
I have read about it and doubt it has survived the passing of time. It was made of iron or steel and rust has taken most all items from that time. There was never anything other than legend that claimed any power for it so it is really not important. The centurion who pierced the side of Jesus, Longinus was cured of near blindness when the blood and water of Christ fell into his eyes. He became a Christian and was later Martyred. The church declared him St. Longinus. The spear is supposedly in Rome but I doubt it.
Neither. It doesn't exist. It's a myth and legend. People have claimed to own it or that it was cut into pieces...but no one has it.
Besides, it not a "7 wonders of the world." In fact, many of the wonders you speak of don't exist anymore. They seem to change a lot because of this.

I'm wondering what museum or place they are holding at, I'd like to see it in person and the seven wonders before I die. And what exactly was it's power? Invincibility in battle?
