Date:1096–1099
Location : Near East (Anatolia, Levant, Palestine)
Result : Decisive Crusader victory
Territorial changes: Kingdom of Jerusalem and other Crusader states created
In the years 1096-1099 the First Crusade happened. It was sent out by Pope Urban II in order to take the territory of Israel, the land where Jesus was born in. It was however, very controversial because it also belonged to the Jews (it's their land), it also belonged to the Muslims (they were inhabitants of it before), and lastly the Catholics in which their Savior was bron in.
I can only echo the other answer, embellish it a little for the askers benefit if I may. Indeed the date was 1096-1099. It was actually launched on the 27th of November 1095 by Pope Urban 11. The main fighting was in the Near East, the Levant,Palestine. Of course it was a stout victory for the forces of Islam.I hope this will be satisfactory.
the idea first started in 1087 but it happened in 1096, good to get both facts :)
