The benefit is now only being introduced into a few areas before becoming national.
I haven't heard anything as I was out all day, in Bristol. Why don't you Google Disability Benefits on the Yahoo site, or else download one of the daily papers, and see if you can see a story about benefits in there. They aren't just out to catch benefit cheats, but they want to remove some people from receiving them, and FORCE them to go to work in order to have any money. I watched a whole programme about it on TV, and even I'm NOT sure if I will continue to get DLA, although I have various physical ailments including cardiac failure, lungs damaged from having Pulmonary Emboli in them (blood Clots), an inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, diabetes, and severe arthritis, together with an overactive thyroid gland. I cant understand why at my age (64) they are classing me in the category that they are trying to get people back to work. I haven't worked since I was 55, so I sure as hell aren't going to go back at this age. I think that we will all have to be examined and then they will make their decisions after that.Its no good worrying about it, as that wont change anything will it? I am sure there must be an appeal procedure. so that is what I will be doing if they stop my payments, as without that bit of money each week, I would be housebound, because I cant even walk to the nearest bus stop, and we'd struggle to keep our car on the road, and also to pay the Road Tax (I am exempt from paying it), as I would lose that too!! I'll deal with it WHEN it happens, and I REFUSE to worry myself to an early grave, as that wont solve anything will it?.If you have to reapply, which I am sure you will, get your Social Workers to help you, and with their support you shouldn't have too many problems.
It would help if you'd posted a link - I haven't heard of any announcement today about disability benefits.

im 35 and on disability benefits, i panic and worry over any stories about this topic, because i get afraid they will stop my benefit for some reason, i am on it for credible reasons.
