There is a lot of reading here, and I would hope at your level you would have text books you can read rather than as much that is posted here. It will depend on how deep into the war you need to go.
Your grade system is not used here, so I have no idea what level it is, whether it is high school or primary school and their levels.

I was just watching a Discovery Channel or History show on TV about a week ago. So many things about that war that i forgot , haven't heard or read anything about it since elementary school or thereabouts..France was at War with Great Britain at the time.It was only twenty years or so since the American Revolution - There was many back and forth issues around a questionable border with Canada. It seems like there was plenty of British soldiers up in Canada at the time..I don't feel like googling this myself so i'll wing it - Kids from Kentucky and other parts of the US wanted to go whip some red coats up there, they were untrained and just regular folk, there was no US army or organization down here - They got whipped , many american indians that sided with the british were up there with them . They were taking some cheap shots across the border, very angry still i guess..
Funny,strange part was how the french citizens sided with the British up there to fight the hated yankees , many US armed civilians refused to cross the border and fight as they had no quarrel with them..Some undisciplined soldiers went and burned a canadian village down , leaving old people in the beds outside..The British sail down the coast and marched on D.C. and burned it. It was mostly farms and wood houses. Finally the people took it seriously and fought back at Baltimore , the British simply sailed away..The war ended , but not before a British Army lands and attacks a well prepared and trained regiment in New Orleans - It was over , go home , nothing happened...
Another bad thing to hear was how some New England farmers were selling food and clothes to the British and Tecumseh etc. while we were at war
