They have three options in which to chose from: 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, or not guilty by reason of self defense. If they cannot decide there will most likely be a new trial, but if he is found not guilty by reason of self defense there will not be another criminal trial because of double jeopardy, but there could be a civil suit.
