The Gulf Stream generally drifts N and S affecting our weather but has been 'stuck' in recent weeks - sending a series of low depressions directly towards the UK.
We have more gales and heavy rainfalls this afternoon and tomorrow morning - but our 1 pm news reports an 'easing' next week.
Problem is it can take more than a few days for rain on high ground to link up with main rivers so flooding will actually increase next week despite such 'easing'.

MY garden, and every garden and farm in southern California, needs your rain!
But never mind, the Midwest and East Coast are getting all the precipitation, and over here in the West we are having another year of drought.
Of course, the customary drought is why they make movies in Hollywood after all; sunshine every day is good for filming.
Now climate change is in full swing, lord knows where this will end.
The birds are asking for more food.
I feel bad but I don't want to venture out there right now.
This relentless rain should really be snow.
Which would melt slowly & ebb away.

I suspect that when things settle down weather wise in USA we will see it settle down here about 14 days later. So I suppose I'm asking for an American forecast. It will be only a guide at best because th eonly predictable thing about British weather is that it is unpredictable
