Meteor in russia & in of world?

Your friends are quite ignorant.

There are 1000s of meteors that fall towards Earth every year. 99.999% of them burn up harmlessly in the atmosphere. These are the streaks of light we call "shooting stars."

Most meteorites that reach the ground are smaller than a tennis ball and even most of those hit the ocean (remember, over 75% of the Earth's surface is covered by water.)

However there are rocks out there that are large enough to cause some real damage. The latest meteorite in Russia was only about the size of a school bus. Meanwhile the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs millions of years ago is estimated to have been about 6 miles in diameter.

If anything, I hope this latest event has (re)awakened the world to the dangers we face and why we must increase funding to organizations that are dedicated to detecting and tracking these larger objects whizzing around the solar system.

Meteors fall to Earth practically every day, or near enough. Most of them are very small and burn up in the atmosphere. We often just don't see them. However, we do get bigger ones from time to time, but this is less common than the small ones. And the really big, extinction level ones are even rarer!

The one in Russia is not a sign of any world ending event, it is just one of those rare occasions a fairly big meteor manages to make it to Earth's ground.

Meteors have been hitting the eartth since the creation of the earth. Some were so big they had planet altering effects, In fact, one meteor was so big it knocked a chunk of earth into space and we now call it the moon, but none have ended the world.

Our "world" ends within 120 years of our birth, usually a lot sooner. The end of the world doesn't matter, we all expire eventually. I will die, not soon enough, but it will happen, so will you. I pity those of you who have a good life, for you will be clinging to this desolate filth of a planet not wanting to die. I can't wait for my hour.

What do you'll think? I have friends that keep saying that it has something or that its a sign of the world ending soon! Opinion on this? I don't really think that do y'all?
