Fat is not considered decent , so Curvy is more to describe , it is New way to present your self if you are fat .
I sure hope so. Fat is an ugly word. I can't imagine a self conscious, over weight woman describe herself to someone she doesn't know as "fat". Curvy sounds sexy, but face it, there is a line where curvy ends and fat begins. Where that line starts is solely in the eye of the beholder.
Some obese women might characterize themselves as 'curvy', where others might simply say they are fat, and be okay with that. It is nothing new that people use euphemisms to describe their appearance, whether it's buff, chiseled, athletic, pudgy, curved or well endowed. It's what we do to make things more acceptable and bearable in our minds, and more prevalent when we don't feel good about ourselves.
Believe it or not, some people think 'thin' is ugly, even repulsive, and fat is where it's at, beautiful. .
Well, there is a difference between curvy and fat. Depends on their BMI-something to do with fat to height ratio. In any case, curvy is feminine and beautiful. Look at Marilyn Monroe and J Lo. So no, curvy is not the new name for fat.
In past centuries, being plump was a sign of prosperity. In some cultures today, big is beautiful, among the Maori and other South Pacific cultures for example. The Japanese tend to be short and slim but they adore those huge Sumo wrestlers.
Fashion designers believe their clothes show better on tall, slim women. Most male fashion designers are also gay, so their opinion of feminine beauty is a bit different from heterosexual men. Twiggy was a flash in the pan.
Sophia Loren was gorgeous AND took all the compliments with a grain of salt. She said, "Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti"
As a fellow American, I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth. I guess. They say Michelle Obama is curvy, I say chunky, but fat could apply Well, I'm now off to a job interview as a zoo keeper.
I dint think so. To me. A curvy woman is a woman with more .....features.
Like hips sizable abdomen but with the hourglass figure, average breast size
. Sizable thighs. Basically a woman who is not too thick and not to thin. Thus giving them the curvy look
No. "Curvy" has been around for many years, along with "full-figured," "voluptuous," and "a few extra pounds." There's nothing new about it.
What is the point of this question?
I don't think so if someone calls you Curvy I think their calling u Well proportionate. If they call you Rubenesque That's when u know there Calling u fat
no, women in the 1950's were full figured and healthy. It wasn't until the arrival of the model Twiggy did that bone thin look become popular. So women are starting to go back to the healthier idea of beauty instead of that heroin thin look that many of those in hollywood like.
I see women that are fat calling themselves describing themselves as curvy
It depends on how FAT and how CURVY they are.
