The problem with repeating such drivel...........is that the people who repeat it, only know the words, "Mayan Calendar"........and NONE of the facts, or reasons, of how or why this "prediction" came to be, or what is REALLY suppose to happen on that date, if it's of any real signifigance at all.
Nor does anyone even attempt to explain just "HOW" *the WORLD* is suppose to end.
It's been here for 4 or 5 BILLION years. I seriously doubt it's going anywhere, this year.
Now, having said that.........that does mean the earth has NOT gone thru some pretty catastrophic changes in those 4 billion years. It sure has .
And once you start truly studying all that........and trying to decipher what many ancient things are actually trying to tell us...........The Pyramids,the Easter Island statues, the Ruins in Peru, and Yes, even the Mayan ruins..........only THEN, will you grasp what all this HUBBUB, is TRULY all about,
The world *ending* ??????? No.
a coming cataclysmic event? Quite possibly.
Will we *all* be wiped out. No, don't be silly.
Will MILLIONS, or even even BILLIONS suffer and die? Perhaps.
It will depend on the changes the next CYCLE of catacylismic occurances will bring......
Polar shift? Another ice age? Earth crust displacement ? Global warming of 20 degrees all around?
Massive volanic activity.? Even the legends and mythic texts, speak of the NEXT cycle ending in FIRE. That's us.
The question is.....what did they KNOW.
They KNEW what was coming. And NOTHING in our power can stop it.
You're talking about cycles the earth goes thru, roughly every 12,000 years, due to it's wobble, as it hurls thru space. The predictions are based, on those 12,000 years, pretty much being up.
It may not be 2012, precisely, but many believe we are IN that end-time zone, of the last cycle, and will see the NEXT cycle, in OUR lifetimes.
If we live thru it. Many civilizations in the past, who were wiped out, did not survive their cycle.
*THAT* is more the scientific answer of what may come.
Not gibberish about some Mayan calendar.....which may indeed, have been trying to predict the next cycle......so , perhaps NOT gibberish after all......but I doubt they could have predicted the exact day,
I guess we'll see.
Yes, the world isn't going to end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar actually says that it will start all over again, and the chances that the world ending in 2012 is the same chance in which the world will end in a week, no one knows when the world will actually end.......
