I am not an American,and its not called "Obamacare" Two statements this humble answerer had made scores of times.
Only those who have a political objection to Obama or his Act will call it such.
I have enclosed a link that explains the Affordable patients care Act. My understanding is that its not an insurance company in its own right and you cant actually sign up to it.
There was millions of healthy young Americans who did not want to pay the large premiums for a service they did not expect to need.
I believe this Act compels them to take out cover and regulates the Insurance companies.
Obama care insures that NO ONE can be discriminated against for having a "pre-existing condition". I was fortunate enough to live long enough without ever being accepted for hospitalization coverage because of what they considered a "pre existing" condition.
The 'other' insurance actually treats a person and not let them die in the ER waiting room, will not drop a person from a plan because of chemo or drop someone because of dialysis. It is currently hurting more people than it is helping. What is happening to America? Quite frightening.
It's not just Affordable-Healthcare, it's Healthcare as a category.
Insurance is there to 'cover a risk', Healthcare insurance is there to 'cover costs'.
So it's not an actual Insurance, it's a Service-tax that when you look at it, shouldn't be on the Commercial Market at all, because then you get the problems you have now, Insurance Companies acting like INVESTMENT-BANKERS and squeezing the public for every penny, for totally unreasonable rates.
Healthcare costs about 65% of what we're charged, yet because the Insurance Companies have very few rules, and regulations, they can over-charge us, and still pretend they're 'doing us a favor'.
It saves lives of those who originally couldn't afford general insurance. People who would normally have died from something as simple as the flu because they couldn't afford to go to a doctor.
With insurance prior to the ACA law, (Obama care) you had the option to buy or not. With the ACA you buy or are punished.
it is better bcoz repubs are opposing it must be determental to Corporate
how obama care is superior then general insurance????
