She was murdered by her own mother - who then had a tricky defense team and a jury who wasn't paying attention.
they don't know how Caylee died. they think she was either strangled or smothered or overdosed. by the time the body was recovered, it had decayed too far to make a determination
the mother wasn't declared guilty because the prosecution failed to prove that she was responsible for the child's death beyond a reasonable doubt. the most they could prove was that she impeded the investigation. there was always the question of did she kill the child or did she cover up the death to protect someone else.
most of the crap that gets broadcast on the news, in the papers & on the internet is speculation & rumour which aren't allowed to be presented in a court case. the jury is only allowed to review the facts that are presented in court when they make their decision.
I watched this trial from day one, wondering how that beautiful little girl ended up with her mouth duct-taped, put in a garbage bag and thrown in a nearby woods. Mother didn't report her missing for weeks, and since she was freed (from"reasonable doubt" -right!), she says Caylee accidently drowned in her parents pool and she helped cover for her Dad.
If that was true, why not call 911, why "dispose of her w/taped mouth and tossed out like garbage?) Why wait weeks to report her missing if it was an "accident"?
My wish is that some day, in some way, justice for Caylee will happen.
No one can answer how she died. I think that's why the mom wasn't found guilty - because if you can't give the reason or means of how victim dies, it's hard to prove anything beyond that.
Why didn't the mother get guilty?
