They did not blow up their cafeteria. Although the massacre was an attempted bombing, the propane bombs never blew up. And the reason for the bombs was to maximize the amount of kills possible.
They shot up their school for many reasons, some because of hate, anger, glory, fame, and just plain murder. Eric was diagnosed post mortem as a psychopath, (he could not empathize), and Dylan was diagnosed with depression. These are deffinitely some contributing factors to their rampage.
The deaths of those innocent young people deserve more research on your part than just believing it was about "hamburgers."
