I take it you're trying to come up with ways to protect people from tornadoes?

* Alarms - we have those now. They used to be air-raid sirens from WW2, but are now used to warn folks there is a tornado nearby and they should take shelter. Problem is, the alarms only provide about 15 minutes - or less - warning. Unlike a hurricane, the path of a tornado is very fast and erratic. Fortunately, most tornadoes don't last long but they can do an awful lot of damage, as you can see.

* Sticks/rods for folks to hold on to - no one has the strength to withstand a 200mph wind. Besides, being outside is very dangerous because there's a lot of stuff blowing around like rocks, glass, cows... Most people that are killed by tornadoes are killed by having something slam into them at high speed. The same goes for a tsunami. The amount of force from the water pushing on you will cause all but Superman to lose their grip, not to mention being battered by all the debris carried by the water.

No the best defense against either a tornado or tsunami is - GET OUT OF THE WAY.

For a tsunami that means running in land, and uphill, as fast as possible. Climbing a tree generally won't help because the tree will probably fall over. A large sturdy building might help so long as the tsunami doesn't go over the building...

For a tornado, getting away or finding shelter. In this case, the best shelter is underground. Most homes and buildings have a basement for this purpose. Stay away from the doors in case the tornado rips them away. If there is no basement around, find the center of the house, like a closet, and pull a heavy blanket or mattress over you. The bathtub is another option. Stay away from windows as they may shatter and spray you with glass.

The "iron igloo" you describe already exists. Many companies now provide storm closets which are essentially a reinforced steel box set inside your house. You can use it as a closet but in case of a tornado, it'll provide you with shelter even if the rest of your house is sucked away by the tornado. It'll even survive a direct hit by a car thrown at it at 200 mph.

Yes.

Just impractical.

Go ahead and brainstorm. Eventually you might come up with something.

How you going to build something no one can destroy?

yes and confusing

instant alert alarms on street?? here are more ideas are.. 1. build very huge big sticks people can hold nearby house or school (it must not be slippery). 2. build very huge basement or elevator. something like that in north korea. 3. build very huge and thick iron cave or iron igloo no one can destroy. it is welded to ground. melt them. it must not be too huge. or build many small ones. for example, http://i.imgur.com/JYzU9of.jpg (that stick must not be thick like the picture though. you can add some door. and you can add some small holes to have good ventilation. only two adults can enter in small version. it will not be blew away because it is melted and welded to ground. and it protects your head. the cave must be very thick and strong. it can be rectangle shape). people dont even try some idea. it won't cost many money. anyway i think idea is important than anything. i have ideas about tsunami in japan. you can build very long sticks on street. when people are washed away in the flood, people will be able to grab the stick. and they can climb to the roof by the ladder. the reason why i think it will work is that i watched many tsunami videos. those thin telephone poles were not washed away in the flood. if you build strong one with one more function that automatically shoots long wrinkly stick to other side on street when waters reach the button or people press the button, it will save many people. and you must know that those japanese who didn't ignore the warning from ancestors 100 years ago did build very huge blockers and they didn't die. i have so many ideas on natural disasters no one gives a **** lol

do you think these ideas are bullshit
