Anything can be used as a weapon in the wrong hands.Even the bare hands can be used as a weapon to beat someone to death or strangle another person. Do we outlaw cars because Susan Smith strapped her two young boys in their car seats and let the car go in the water and drowned her little boys.Do we ban toxic chemicals that can cause burns,blindness ,scarring and /or death when thrown at their intended victim.Household knives for stabbing.Rocks to beat someone.Like I said if the person is in such a state they want to harm or kill someone they will find a way.Everything and anything has the potential to cause harm.In this case it was a tire iron,watch the news tonight and it will simply be a different weapon of choice or convenience.We really don't have any laws in place to protect everyone from harm and usually the laws that are in place only come into play after the harm has been done.Restraining orders are usually just a piece of paper and are only effective if the person respects what it says.

What should be banned are the behaviors that contribute, so dangerously, to the development of very angry, very bitter, very resentful young adults. As kids, they COULD do nothing to be treated with the dignity and respect due to ALL human beings. When they were KIDS, we adults and our society REFUSED to insist our children be treated like human beings. The END result is the creation of some very angry young adults. ONLY NOW, THEY CAN BECOME ARMED. It doesn't matter if we outlaw guns, or knives, or tire irons. When we create angry, bitter, deeply resentful young adults, they WILL find a weapon. And, with the FULL BELIEF that their life is worth NOTHING, they won't hesitate to use that weapon. The United States of America has TWICE the number of mass murderers as the rest of the nations on earth COMBINED. As a society, WE ARE BROKEN. It is our children who suffer worst. Many of them find their life so terrible, they commit suicide. Sadly, most of these kids will grow up. And, their damaged emotions will go with them. There WILL be a terrible price to pay. We already know this. We just refuse to accept the reasons why they happen. We will learn, or we will lose our society. THAT---is our choice.
