There is no "Free Speech" in my mean ( Exactly FREE SPEECH) no where on the earth!
U.S. try to kill "True Speech" by shutting up independent news sources. Their policy is same for PressTV, HispanTV, Snowden,...
They afraid of truth.
Speech has never been free, Every word we speak has always been spoken at a price. Now, this has not always been a negative thing. And, MOST of the time, our spoken words are encouraging, educational, and helpful. And, the price paid in those spoken words are people who have been encouraged, taught, or helped. But, there are times when our freedom of speech is paid at a terrible price. In just he past few years, we have witnessed reasons foreign nations view Americans as barbarians. A nine year old AMERICAN boy was bullied, badly, by his classmates, at school. The boy hung himself to death, at home. The next day, the bullies proudly went to school---with nooses around their necks. A 15 year old girl was bullied to suicide by her classmates, at school. Her parents held an open-casket funeral. The bullies walked up to the casket, pointed their fingers at the girl---and laughed. Yes, freedom of speech comes with a price. It isn't always good. No wonder foreign nations view America as the most violent nation on earth. We have a world-wide reputation. It isn't good. Foreign nations laugh at us when we lecture THEM on their human rights violations.
Free speech for which country? Posting a generic question about free speech being dead and then complaining about Iran - which has no free speech laws - is confusing.
Political correctness is trying to stymie a certain type of free speech because it does not fit their opinion of what free speech should be.
It began in the 80ies, expanded in the 90ies & with Obama it is unfortunately really starting to filter into our everyday lives.
Ask Edward Snowdan and Bradley Manning if free speech is dead.
