Will fixing the prison system solve the gun debate?

Privately operated prisons are much more effective than government ones. They operate at a profit. The government can't even break even running a barbershop in Congress.

Over crowding is caused by courts repeatedly granting better and better living conditions to the convicts. Of course they can't get out to go bowling but they have it pretty good.

It isn't guns that need to be regulated. It is people. The current gun laws are not being inforced.

The prison system is crowded with non violent criminals. Granted some have done some very nasty things like Mafoff but wouldn't society be better off if he worked to pay back some of what he's stolen?

You can not make gun control advocates and those believing in the constitution both happy.

They rrequire opposites

I agree on that. There should be no release early for good behavior. I know of people & cases where they say I got 1 year & w/good time I do only half that. Make the person do the whole time & they less apt to give the so what attitude. Sure would be nice if banks would say same to some of us "Hey you paid 20,000 on the 80,000 you owe so you are good."

Nope

.

There is no way to fix Jails

.

Only if ya move them all to some South Pole Island

.

The only way to fix the gun problem is to

.

Make it mandatory to lock all guns in a gun case with a combination and key lock combination

.

Then to make the owner of the gun responsible if any one in their house uses that gun in a crime

.

Then have them both stand trial for the crime

.

No, it won't. The gun debate is founded on a false premise - that criminals will obey the law. There is no solution for the gun debate because it is grounded in wrong thinking.

I read somewhere prison is an profitable industry; where they overcharge to take care of prisoners.

Government wastes lots of money on these prisons-- leads to debt --- no money -- over crowding -- then early release for many prisoners.

many criminals get released early.

if the system is broke, creating new gun laws wont solve the issue.. but only create an illusion of safety
