There are striking similarities and Dissimmilarities between America and India.
These countries are BROADLY DISSIMILAR ONLY IN HISTORY and not anything else.
-America is an artificial country created by white people coming in from all over the world.It has slowly evolved to be accomodative of all ideas and people.
And this has been the source of its strength.That it has been able to evolve with time.
Unlike Imperialism and communism America is here to stay for the long run.
-India UNLIKE AMERICA is an ancient civilisation.
Now have you ever thought that why only some countries like India are called Ancient civilisation?
There must be something going on in all countries in ancient times wouldnt it?
India is called such because INDIAN CIVILISATION SURVIVED others like Persian/Mesopotamian didnot.
Now the Question is WHY DID INDIA survive inspite of Brutal Islamic invasions..800 years of Islamic rule.Then the British imperialism which drained India's wealth and purged India's institutions.
Still the ancient Vedic knowledge survivied.WHY?
Because LIKE PRESENT DAY USA(and India)
INDIAN CIVILISATION was a HIGHLY CENTRALISED civilisation unlike Islam and Christianity.It had no authority(thats why all invasions were successful)
Consider Islam purged Christianity from the Middle East totally Why didnt it purge Indian Religion?
Infact Islam itself decentralised on coming to India SUFISM-DEOBANDIs and so on.
India is the melting pot of all the world's Ideas and NO SINGLE IDEA can capture India in entitrety.
Infact its a Miracle the in 1947 in a CHRONICALLY IMPOVERISHED NATION EVEN COMMUNISM COULD NEVER GET A HOLD.....Usually the Norm is that THE MORE THE POVERTY THE MORE COMMIES THRIVE.....But again BECAUSE OF INDIA's decentralised population which speaks 40 languages...Communism cud never engulf the country.
Coming to your question America has taken 300 years to become what it is.Its been only 66 yrs for India.
Crucial years are ahead for indian politics.Reforms are required.
AND LIKE AMERICA India reforms only in a crisis...Remember It took several wars for America to build its millitary...so In a democracy future is unpredictable.
But on the Ideas which America has been built artificially India has had those Ideas of "imbibing the spirit and diversity" naturally....So India has a good chance.
But India has to be able to do a lot of things as a populace in the future.India is not like China whose future can be decided in a Headquarter building of Beijing...(I mean i wish the Chinese all the best).
Global Power-Yes India can be a country which may weild more NATIONAL POWER than US but not technological power and Never Per-capita Power.
Moreover India can/In fact will become a country with whom/whose interests nobody can or will mess with...But India cant become a good global ENFORCER...it ll remain a country like USSR...it wont mess with third party problems....IF IT WILL IT WILL MESS IT UP...
Before WW I & II Europe was the center of the world. British were so powerful that they never imagined what they would become in next 25 years. US was not rich before WWs, it sold stuff to these warring states in US & became rich. Predicting future is a very difficult thing to do. All who are sure that India could never supersede US are as dumb as people who think India will definitely supersede. The ignorance of Americans about India may contribute to their downfall. For example they think that India is backward in everything, which they have derived from Youtube videos & possibly CNN, because that's all they know. Now here is one thing there are 300m Americans and which is 3rd largest population in the world, and if Americans are so smart, why does US has to import talent from India & these 3rd world countries & not give jobs to their fellow smart Americans.
Maybe in another 500 to 1000 years when India's able to provide equally for all its citizens.
Then again, Indian might very well collapse under its own unsustainable population in the next 100.

You have to think,some American states are as big as countries on their own.California is the worlds 4th biggest economy in its own right. They are 50 countries all parcelled together.Thats the might of the US and always will be.
Not even remotely possible. While the USA's educational system isn't the greatest, at least it does not teach astrology as is done in India. Nor does the USA have an enormous bottom class, wandering sacred cattle, over a dozen major languages, and borders with hostile states.

We were discussing global power during the second world war and my history teacher decided to take a detour and was telling us about the current world powers. She said India is a growing power and is on its way to become a very powerful nation. SO that got me thinking, can India ever surpass teh U.S. in power.
