The majority of their news shows have a very right wing angle. They do things like give the right wing or republican person a lot of time to talk, then give the democrat or left wing person very little time to make a point, force them to answer harder questions then go easy on the right wing side, have three versions of the right wing position vs one of the left wing position etc.
So,their political commentary tends to be pretty bad in my opinion, this is also the Network where the conspiracy theorist Glen Beck was given a serious platform.Other Networks do the same kind of thing, often with a liberal bias, but usually not as obvious or extreme as the conservative bias that fox has.
When they do breaking news or news that is not political they actually do a decent job with that element of news, but when it comes to political news, they have all these commentators with an obvious agenda who are fast and lose with the facts.
They are seen as right wing, because most other news outlets are very left. Yes some of their opinion people do have a conservative viewpoint, but their hard news is pretty fair. Do you really think Greta Van Sustern, or Geraldo Rivera are right wing ideologues ? Glenn Beck comes up often, remember he was at CNN's Headline News before Fox. Even liberals admit that Hilary Clinton was treated more fairly by Fox when she ran for president. DNC tried to sabotage her presidential run by threatening not to count primary votes in states where she did well. Most people who trash Fox news do not watch it, they just repeat what others say. People can say they are awful, but the ratings do not support it.
Fox News is only viewed as awful by those who vocalize negativity because they do not share its conservative political position. It is always a good idea to get a broader scope of pertinent news information from more than one source. For example, Global Post is a very informative international news portal. I

You only have to take a good look at America to understand Fox News !
It's not actually bad, it is just that FOX news is a very conservative news station, and most of America is liberal with literalistic ideas and views, so they view Fox news as awful. It's not that the news is really that bad, they just have their (conservative) views presented in the material they show. That's pretty much it :p
Where I live (in Australia) the 24 hour international news channels available are as follows....
and I will rate from one to 10, (with comment.)
(1) ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) 24 hour service.....6....ok but not great.
(2) Sky News Australia.....6...ok but not great.
(3) CCTV....from China (in English) ...2...a big turn off.
(4) CNN.....6....not what it used to be.
(5) Aljazera......9....I really hate to say it, and even though I think they have an anti Israel, anti US bias, it does have the best international news coverage of the lot.
(6) Fox News.......5.....yes there is a right wing bias, which is ok by me, but it's wall to wall coverage of US politics just gets toooo much!
Because Fox cancels all the good shows :S
The lefties don't like it because they tell the truth . Anyone who wants to be informed watches Fox ,,, lefties don't want to know the truth .
-Because it's NOT actual "News." -It's Infotainment . And much of "Infotainment" is more Entertainment & Opinion- than actual "News..." :(
I'm not American so therefore I don't watch it. What exactly do they do that makes them so bad?
