Saddam Hussein was a war criminal because he killed his own people men, women and children. The war was in 2003 and USA was fighting against the terrorism and also were very concerned about Saddam hiding the weapons of mass destruction somewhere in Iraq and it turned out to be nothing, but USA did removed his power. He was charged against humanity and was hanged.

After 9/11, then president George W. Bush claimed Iraq had been involved, was continuing to harbor terrorists, and was building weapons of mass destruction (weapons of nuclear, biological or chemical nature). Although these all turned out to be lies, it was enough to convince congress to declare war on Iraq.

This wasn't the first time the US had invaded Iraq, nor even the first time a Bush had been the president during a war on Iraq. However the first Iraq war had occurred back in 1992 when Iraq invaded its neighbor, Kuwait, and claimed it now belonged to Iraq. President George Bush Sr. (George W's father) left Saddam Hussein in charge of Iraq because he claimed that if we killed him, it would destabilize the nation and its neighbors, increase terrorism and draw the US into a lengthy occupation with no real way of winning.

Anyways, in 2002, Bush Sr's son, George W. Bush, took the US back into Iraq to take out Saddam Hussein and bring democracy to the people of Iraq (by shooting at them?) So, yeah, Saddam Hussein went into hiding. He was eventually located and captured by US troops. He was then put on trial in Iraq for various crimes against humanity for actions he had carried out against his own people. He was found guilty, and executed by hanging.

The trial was mainly for show. There was no way George W. wasn't going to see Saddam Hussein dead for one reason or another.

Turns out George W. should have listened to his daddy. Just as Bush Sr. predicted, the US' invasion of Iraq and the destruction of its government, mired the US in a decade-long, unwinnable war that created widespread instability and increases in terrorist activities throughout the Middle East.

The Iraqi people found out he was actually born in America and was a Christian. Can you believe how prejudiced and foolish they are ?

Can someone clearly tell me what happened in iraq that made hussein go into hiding and why he was he was executed after he was found? i heard something about the USA invading them but what exactly happened? Thanks :)
